The
Association of Canadian Distillers, the Brewers Association
of Canada and Health
Canada were the first organizations to help finance
the Fetal Alcohol Syndrome / Fetal Alcohol Effects (FAS/FAE)
Information Service which was set up by the Canadian Centre
on Substance Abuse in 1994. This service supplies information
to physicians, health care professionals, educators, the
legal community, policy makers and planners as well as the
families of children with FAS or FAE. Over 1,000 information
requests are answered and 20,000 web site visits are logged
each year.
The
FAS Network can be reached by calling 1-800-559-4514 or
(613) 235-4048 or over the Internet at www.ccsa.ca/fasgen.htm
